Rafael Dorian, of Moroccan origin and born in Brussels, is a fashion designer specialising in a new generation of Caftans, balancing between modernity and tradition.
Over the years, this passion has become more specifically geared towards fashion, the art of pencil drawing, the silhouette, scissors and cutting … and finally creation in its purest form.
At the beginning, he only created evening dresses and cocktail dresses, but following a return to his roots, and his first participation in the “Caftan” event in Morocco, Rafael Dorian has become increasingly specialized in Caftan and in traditional outfits.
Born in Brussels of Maroccan and Andalusian decent, Rafael fell in love with gold, lace, the richness of certain colors, the sobriety and elegance of others and a fusion of Belgian and European style.
“I am inspired by time, eras to create and renew. Using pure materials such as silk, lace, velvet, I combine them with different materials according to my inspirations.” “I love the caftan, the heritage of the art of Moroccan embroidery.”
